Job Title: Marine Systems Engineer

What will you be doing?

As a Systems Engineer within our client's organization, you will assume a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the company’s infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of its clientele.

Supervise and monitor infrastructure and system installations, encompassing configurations, testing, and ongoing maintenance.
Oversee the development of customized software and hardware requirements tailored to meet specific client needs.
Define customer needs and functionality within a service development cycle.
Coordinate various teams for the testing and evaluation of design and implementation.
Collaborate with professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables within organizational guidelines.
Implement and maintain backups, security, and redundancy strategies to ensure system reliability.
Identify potential issues and integrate effective solutions.
Engage with upper management, providing regular reports on project status, activities, and achievements.
Communicate with stakeholders to understand system objectives.
Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components.
Conduct software testing and root-cause analysis for service interruptions.
Set up bench tests and conduct hardware testing.
Create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions.
Oversee backup strategies and daily operations for secure backups and restore testing.
Engage in customer-facing roles, involving global travel to customer locations.
Manage all electrical/data interfaces between in-house and subcontracted systems.
Produce design drawings using 2D CAD (AutoCAD).

Are you the ideal candidate?

Education / Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electronics, controls, or computer science.
Experience with programming languages, operating systems, controllers, and electronics.
Project management and application design experience.
Knowledge of Teams Foundation Server or other version control.
Familiarity with marine electrical/electronic systems.
Proficiency in 2D CAD packages, ideally AutoCAD.
Hands-on experience with complex electrical installations.
