The Role 💼

We’re hiring a Solar PV Designer to lead the technical side of our solar projects. You’ll be designing systems that are compliant, cost-effective, and ready for real-world installs.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Ops, and Engineering to deliver accurate designs and quick turnarounds. Your work will drive better installs, fewer issues, and happier customers.

This is a full-time role based at our Bolton HQ with hybrid working available.

What You’ll Be Doing 🔑

Designing domestic solar and battery systems using OpenSolar or similar tools
Creating layout drawings, performance estimates, and technical packs
Supporting Sales with quick feasibility checks and accurate system sizing
Ensuring every design meets MCS, DNO, and G98 or G99 requirements
Preparing DNO applications and final documentation
Working with the install team to ensure the design is practical and cost-efficient
Reviewing customer photos, site info, and surveys to flag issues early
Improving internal design processes and templates as we scale

What We’re Looking For ✅

Experience designing solar PV systems for UK homes
Familiarity with tools like OpenSolar or similar platforms
Strong understanding of MCS and DNO regulations
Confident reading schematics and handling technical requirements
Detail-focused, logical, and good at spotting potential problems
A great communicator who can work across departments
Bonus if you have battery or heat pump experience
