Role: Operations Manager - Solar PV

We are partnering with a leading renewable energy company to find an Operations & HSE Manager to oversee Health & Safety, Quality, and Operational Delivery across commercial solar installations. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of HSE compliance, training, and quality management, ensuring the highest standards across all projects. With a progression pathway to operations director, this person will be instrumental in the organisation's continued growth. This long-established nationwide commercial installer has a great reputation for the consistency and quality of its projects.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Operations & HSE Manager to lead Health & Safety strategy, training initiatives, and operational improvements. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry regulations, managing accreditations, and driving best practices within a high-performing renewables team.
What will you be doing?
- Managing Health & Safety compliance, risk assessments, and audits to maintain high safety standards
- Overseeing quality assurance across all installations, ensuring compliance with MCS and industry regulations
- Developing and managing a training program for employees and contractors
- Leading an Operations Support Team, ensuring effective communication and resource management
- Identifying efficiency improvements through AI and digitalisation initiatives
- Working with external consultants and regulatory bodies to maintain accreditations
What are we looking for?
- Strong leadership & management experience in a relevant sector
- NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate or higher (Diploma/NVQ Level 5+ preferred)
- Health & Safety expertise with experience in risk assessments, audits, and compliance
- Construction industry background, ideally within commercial rooftop solar
- Strong problem-solving, organisation, and communication skills
- Experience in quality management and operational improvements
- Knowledge of AI applications in workplace efficiency is a plus
