In this role you will support the delivery of the MAG Public Affairs strategy and help to increase the levels of engagement and influence with stakeholders across Manchester Airport’s catchment area of the North, Wales and Scotland. You will assist the Director of Corporate Affairs on day-to-day stakeholder engagement and public affairs activity, as well as providing support on key projects and workstreams, such as securing better surface access to the airport, promoting Manchester Airport’s role as the UK’s global gateway in the North, and supporting the airport’s growth ambitions within the context of the sustainability agenda.
You will develop and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders in the fields of politics, business and local government. You will be expected to develop and maintain knowledge on policy areas of importance and the airport’s policies and positions relating to these and provide internal and external briefings on these issues. Along side this, a key focus of this role is keeping the business, including senior leaders, abreast of key policy developments and their relevance to Manchester Airport and MAG overall.
You
To be successful in this role, you will need the relevant experience in a political, public affairs or external relations environment. You will have the ability to produce high quality written materials and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders. You will be confident in engaging with people across all levels and building relationships with excellent information monitoring/gathering and analysis skills to support the delivery of the above. This role will require some travel to London and other UK regional cities.
