Role Description
Position Summary:
The Vibration Analyst / CBM Engineer plays a critical role in implementing and executing condition-based monitoring programs with a strong emphasis on vibration analysis (VA), infrared thermography, and lubricant analysis. The successful candidate will support clients across a variety of high-stakes industries, diagnosing equipment condition and recommending maintenance strategies based on collected data and trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular vibration data collection and analysis on rotating equipment using industry-standard tools and software.
- Perform infrared thermographic inspections to detect thermal anomalies and potential failure points.
- Carry out oil sampling and lubrication analysis to assess machine health and contamination issues.
- Interpret data trends and prepare comprehensive condition reports with actionable maintenance recommendations.
- Work closely with client engineering and maintenance teams to align predictive maintenance findings with operational goals.
- Support and enhance CBM programs, including route development, scheduling, and technology integration.
- Ensure all monitoring and reporting activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and PSW quality systems.
- Maintain detailed records of asset condition, inspection schedules, and service history.
- Provide technical support and training to client personnel as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Level II or higher Certification in Vibration Analysis (e.g., ISO 18436-2 or equivalent).
- Practical experience in condition monitoring within industrial environments.
- Familiarity with thermographic inspection tools (Level I or II preferred).
- Basic to intermediate competency in lubricant analysis and tribology.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
- Proficiency in CBM software platforms (e.g., Emerson, SKF, Pruftechnik, or similar).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various client sites.
Desirable:
- Experience working in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear or petrochemical.
- Knowledge of reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) and failure modes.
- Awareness of safety and compliance standards relevant to critical infrastructure.
