About the Role
We are seeking to employ a Formulation Technologist to work within our technical team. The successful candidate will help develop and refine formulations and processes for the optimisation of our graphene-enhanced concrete admixture - an innovation at the heart of Concretene’s mission to decarbonise the construction industry. You will work closely with scientists, engineers and industry partners to optimise formulations, improve process efficiency and ensure consistency in performance across a range of concrete applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, testing, and optimisation of graphene-based admixture formulations.
- Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate dispersion, stability and performance of admixtures in concrete.
- Support scale-up processes from lab to pilot and industrial scale.
- Maintain accurate records of formulations, test results and process parameters.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including materials scientists, civil engineers and external partners.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in formulation development and process control.
Essential Criteria
- BSc in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience in formulation development or materials processing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practice (GLP).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with nanomaterials, dispersions, or concrete admixtures.
- Knowledge of rheology, particle dispersion, or surface chemistry.
- Familiarity with construction materials testing standards (eg. BS EN).
- Experience in scale-up or pilot plant operations.
