About The Role
This is a Fixed Term position for 3 years working full-time
The NCRN is a new Sustainable Centre funded by the recent investment of £48M into research by Health and Care Research Wales. The NCRN is unique in being the only Centre to receive additional funding through partnership with the British Heart Foundation and seeks to facilitate the development of cross-HEI/UHB inter-disciplinary work with translational relevance to clinic. The Network is Wales-wide and embeds a collaborative alliance between researchers, clinicians, patients, public, Universities and Health Boards to enhance critical mass and excellence in cardiovascular research.
The post, based at Swansea University, encompasses a diverse range of the Networks activities including the co-ordination of project plans, engaging and communicating with stakeholders, monitoring and reporting, data analysis and administration at different stages of the project: implementation, planning, delivery, project closure and project sustainability
You will work closely with the Networks Leadership Team, Theme Principal Investigators and Strategy Leads, building and enhancing links across the CV research, clinical and strategic partnership landscape in Wales. Through your leadership in bid development, research synthesis and activity-mapping you will develop and operationalise a portfolio of externally-funded projects that enhance the Networks research capacity and capability. Working with interdisciplinary research teams, you will strategise bids aligned with major funding opportunities, especially those where research advancement necessitates multiple lines of expertise (e.g., consortia development). You will liaise with funders and provide guidance to the Networks stakeholders on how to appropriately frame and articulate key research questions in order to improve the competitiveness of applications for funding.

Welsh Language Skills
The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
