A vacancy has arisen for a Skilled Maintenance Technician based at the Ellesmere Port site.
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader the successful candidate will support the manufacturing group with a high level of expertise to maintain assets safely, contribute to production targets and to undertake all routines necessary to maintain asset reliability and to ensure conformance with all statutory, mandatory and regulatory bodies.
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Recognise and report threats due to equipment defects
- Respond to Maintenance Team Leader for all aspects of work control and planning
- Required to work in conformance with all site procedures and standards
- Provides expertise in all areas within core skills
- Carries out all duties in conformance with statutory and Company quality, safety, health and environmental regulations and standards
- Help training in all areas within the team
- Partake in all departmental and site initiatives (safety, efficiency, and improvements)
- Help develop Apprentices overall competency in required areas
- Becomes proactive in all departmental and site initiatives
- Contribution to initiating and pursuing improvement to engineering effectiveness is expected along with the ability to be a hands-on active member of the team as required
- Troubleshoot problems
- Understand associated hazards whilst working on and maintaining plant assets
- To be able to identify improvements and solutions within their environment
- Competency on stripdown, inspection and rebuild of plant assets such as: Pumps, Gearboxes, Reactors, Heat exchangers, Valves, Safety valves, Filters and Agitators
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
• BTEC (ONC), City & Guilds or NVQ (level 2) in relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience working on a COMAH site, preferably Top Tier
• City and Guilds High Risk Confined Space Working NC4 qualification
• Managing and working with asbestos – Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 ACoP
• ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity or equivalent
• Computer literate – SAP S4HANA, Microsoft Office
• Fault finding and diagnostic skills for various plant assets.
• Use excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The role will necessitate working outside of core skills so a flexible approach will be required
