Sutro Group is expanding its cutting-edge UAV operations team and we’re looking for a highly skilled UAV Pilot with proven experience in offshore oil and gas environments. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that’s transforming industrial inspections and asset management through the latest in drone, LiDAR, and digital technologies.
What You’ll Be Doing:Offshore Operations
- Conduct Close Visual Inspections (CVI) and General Visual Inspections (GVI) on offshore oil rigs
- Operate the DJI M350 for external inspections
- Operate Elios 3 for confined space/internal inspections
- Collaborate with other inspection professionals on high-priority rig surveys
Onshore & General Survey Work
- Support general inspection and survey projects across various sectors
- Deliver photogrammetry and LiDAR-based digital asset capture
- Contribute to building high-quality digital twins and 3D models of complex infrastructure
What We’re Looking For:Essential
- Offshore experience and current qualification
- Proven UAV pilot experience in offshore environments
- Proficient with DJI M350 and Elios 3 platforms
- Strong understanding of photogrammetry and LiDAR workflows
- Comfortable working in both industrial and confined environments
- Willingness to travel (UK and international)
Desirable
- Experience with terrestrial laser scanning (e.g., Faro, Leica)
- Experience with mobile laser scanning systems
- Foreign drone qualifications (particularly for operations in Europe)
- Knowledge of digital asset management and 3D modelling workflows
