Job Summary
We are seeking a 5 Maintenance Technicians with expertise in automated warehouse systems to ensure the smooth operation, troubleshooting, and repair of complex automated machinery. This role involves working with conveyors, sorting machines, PLCs, robotic systems, and other automated equipment to minimize downtime and enhance efficiency.
The ideal candidate must possess technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems along with a strong focus on safety and compliance, including VCA certification and adherence to maintenance best practices.
Detailed Responsibilities
1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on conveyors, sorting systems, scanners, label applicators, and robotic arms to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair electromechanical faults to minimize system downtime.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled automation equipment (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.).
- Inspect and service motorized rollers, belts, pneumatic actuators, and sensors.
- Monitor equipment performance trends and suggest proactive maintenance improvements.
- Maintain and update maintenance checklists, procedures, and technical documentation.
2. Safety & Compliance
- Follow VCA safety protocols at all times.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety checks before working on equipment.
- Implement and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for hazardous energy control.
- Participate in safety training, toolbox meetings, and emergency drills.
3. System Monitoring & Optimization
- Use SCADA and CMMS software to monitor and analyse equipment performance.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for system reliability.
- Collaborate with engineers and IT teams to enhance automated parcel sorting algorithms.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new automation equipment.
4. Technical Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, fault logs, and repair histories.
- Prepare incident reports and propose corrective actions for recurring technical issues.
- Update equipment schematics and manuals as per modifications.
5. Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with operations teams, engineers, and external vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to improve warehouse efficiency.
Job Requirements
1. Technical Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse automation, or industrial maintenance.
- Strong understanding of conveyor systems, automated sorting machines, scanners, label printers, and robotics.
- Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider).
- Familiarity with SCADA, Maximo
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
2. Safety & Certifications
- VCA (Basic or Full) certification – required or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and machine safety standards.
3. Soft Skills & Additional Requirements
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a rotational shift pattern and be available for emergency call-outs.
