Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientated Assistant Planner to join our Manchester Planning and Development team. This role is ideal for students in their final year of university, or recent graduates passionate about urban planning and property development.
About The Team
As one of the UK’s highly regarded town planning teams, we act as advisors on prestigious projects across many sectors, and work with some of the property industry’s leading names.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior planners in preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals and related documentation
- Conduct research and analysis of planning policy, site constraints and development potential
- Attend client meetings, site visits and stakeholder consultations as required
- Monitor and report on local planning policy changes and panning applications of interest
- Maintain project records, track deadlines, and ensure timely delivery of work
- Contribute to business development activities including bid documents and marketing materials
About You
- Studying a Batchelors or Masters degree (any discipline)
- Demonstrate a passion for Town Planning
- Interest in working towards membership with the RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute)
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced, professional environment
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when required

Working hours
The Firm’s core hours are from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., and you may choose to start and end your day around these hours, provided you still do your 7.25 hours per day (e.g. 8.00 am – 4.30pm, 10.00 am – 6.30 pm). This position also involves out of hours working on an ‘as necessary’ basis.
