A global energy services and engineering platform, operating across over 30 countries with a workforce of more than 10,000 people, is seeking a Corporate Development Associate to join its London-based M&A and Strategy team.
The group plays a critical role in delivering complex engineering, project execution, and technical advisory services across both conventional and renewable energy markets. With a strong strategic focus on energy transition, including decarbonisation of existing infrastructure, hydrogen, offshore wind, and carbon capture, the business is pursuing targeted growth through strategic acquisitions.
Role Overview
This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of Energy Transition M&A, supporting the company’s global buy-side activities. You will be involved across the full transaction lifecycle, from origination to execution and integration, working alongside senior executives and external advisors to deliver deals that align with the organisation’s long-term growth and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the end-to-end execution of buy-side M&A transactions within the Energy Transition, Infrastructure, and broader energy services sectors.
- Conduct market mapping and target screening aligned to the group’s strategic priorities.
- Build detailed financial models and valuations (DCF, LBO, comparable analysis).
- Manage due diligence processes across financial, technical, and commercial workstreams, collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external advisors.
- Prepare high-quality investment committee papers, board presentations, and supporting materials.
- Track market trends, policy developments, and competitor activity relevant to decarbonisation, clean energy, and integrated energy services.
Candidate Requirements
- 2 - 4 years of experience within corporate development, investment banking, transaction services, or private equity, with clear exposure to buy-side M&A transactions.
- Strong preference for candidates with Energy Transition, Infrastructure, or Renewable Energy experience, particularly those who have worked on transactions involving decarbonisation, offshore wind, hydrogen, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated experience working on M&A processes end-to-end, ideally representing the buyer.
- Highly analytical with robust financial modelling and valuation skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, capable of preparing concise, senior-facing reports and presentations.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, global environment.
