Job Description
Purpose for the role:
The O&M Field Manager will serve as the key interface between Masdar Asset Management, Masdar HSQE, the Masdar Control Room, and our O&M Contractors. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of Masdar’s BESS platform. Masdar’s BESS platform is set have its first site go operational by Q3 2025. Initially the scheduled/reactive maintenance of the battery will be outsourced with a view to eventually build that resource in-house.
O&M Contractor Management:
- Management and scheduling of the following contractors across Masdar’s BESS assets:
- o BESS OEM
- o BoP O&M contractor
- o Security contractor
- o Landscaping contractor
- Ensures scheduled maintenance is carried out as per plan.
- Holds monthly review meetings with each contractor.
- Ensures reporting/logging of all maintenance/visits is done into Masdar Database
Interface between Masdar and key O&M Contractors
- Interface between Asset Management/Ops Control Room and O&M Contractors.
- Works with Control Room to ensure all maintenance issues are closed down by liaising/chasing the BESS O&M team.
- Responsible for maintenance scheduling and interfacing outages with Control Room/Optimiser
- (works with all stakeholders to minimise availability downtime).
- Masdar’s onsite presence when contractors attend site for works/inspections.
Site Access Management and Safety:
- Controls Site Access Management
- Maintains Approved/Inducted Contractor Database
- Evaluates Contractor Site Access Requests and RAMS Maintains BESS HSQE Database, ensuring contractors enter all necessary incidences.
- Enforces Masdar HQSE Policy and performs site/contractor audits on their SSoW/SMS as per guidance.
- Ensures all contractors and site visitors adhere to our Cyber Security Policy when onsite.
- Participate (when requested) in QHSE works, audits, office inductions, incident reporting and review of QHSE performances as applicable
Site Governance:
- Responsible for regular owner site inspections and maintenance of logs and associated action trackers.
- Responsible for organising and running any site visits.
- Responsible for stores management and spare parts.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or HND technical qualification (preferably electrical/electronic) or equivalent experience
- IOSH certificate/diploma or NEBOSH general certificate
Preferred Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field
- BESS (Chinese Manufacturer/OEM preferred) experience
- Contractor Management experience
- Commercial and technical awareness
- H&S Auditing experience
- Detailed working knowledge of SSoW’s
- Experience working with NGET/DNO
- Experience with High Voltage substations an advantage
