The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Farm Manager to oversee the daily planning, organisation, supervision, and administration of our calf rearing unit. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong leadership and commercial skills who is passionate about animal welfare and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of daily farm operations
- Ensure animals are cared for to the highest welfare and production standards
- Plan and manage feeding, bedding, vaccinations, and husbandry
- Recruit, train, and supervise farm staff
- Maintain accurate administrative records and compliance documentation
- Maximise Daily Live Weight Gain (DLWG)
- Ensure profitability and achievement of financial targets
- Manage stock across the farm and warehouse
- Oversee maintenance of property, equipment, and machinery
- Keep the unit clean, tidy, and compliant with H&S and regulatory standards
- Stay informed on pests and diseases
- Oversee warehouse bookings and despatch operations
The Person:
- Proven experience as a Farm Manager with a record of meeting targets
- Strong background in rearing units or the dairy industry
- Excellent planning, organisational, and leadership skills
- Commercially aware and target-driven
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
- Full clean driving licence
- A team player with a hands-on, can-do attitude
