Maintenance Engineer - Solar PV, LED Lighting & Electric Vehicle Charging Systems
Location: Field-based across the UK
Salary: £37,000 - £45,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-growing team delivering high-quality maintenance services across Solar PV, LED lighting, and Electric Vehicle Charging systems. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the drive toward Net Zero by supporting cutting-edge, energy-efficient technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair faults to minimise downtime
- Conduct electrical testing and inspections using diagnostic tools
- Complete maintenance records and service reports accurately
- Follow health and safety procedures including safe isolation and working at height
- Communicate effectively with clients, offering technical advice on-site
Requirements:
- Proven experience maintaining Solar PV, LED lighting or EV charging systems
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations knowledge
- Strong skill in fault-finding, testing and repair using electrical diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical documents
- Well organised with strong time management and communication abilities
- Sound understanding of electrical health and safety regulations and risk management.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Installation/Maintenance
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification
- Solar PV or EV charger qualifications
- Health & safety credentials (e.g. IOSH, SMSTS)
- Experience with building management systems (BMS)
