Assistant Health and Safety Manager – Renewable Energy

About the Company
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent contractor operating in the UK renewable energy sector, with a strong track record delivering large-scale solar PV construction and O&M projects across the country. With significant growth in clean energy and a strong pipeline of utility-scale projects, the company is expanding its health and safety function.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Assistant Health and Safety Manager to join a forward-thinking organisation and play a key role in maintaining high HSEQ standards across multiple live sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the safe delivery of solar PV construction and O&M projects
- Assist with development and implementation of RAMS, audits, inspections, and toolbox talks
- Promote a proactive safety culture on-site and across teams
- Ensure ongoing compliance with CDM 2015 and current UK Health & Safety legislation
- Maintain and update health & safety documentation, including incident reports and performance data
- Support internal training and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or working towards)
- Experience in construction, civil engineering, or energy/infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of UK HSE law and CDM Regulations
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
- Experience in solar PV, renewables, or utilities
- TechIOSH, GradIOSH or similar professional affiliation
