Technical Support Manager – Hybrid | South Wales | £Competitive
We’re working with a forward-thinking organisation in the animal and food nutrition space to find a highly organised Technical Support Manager. This is a key hybrid role based in South Wales, ideal for someone with a scientific background and experience in technical documentation, customer interaction, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll play a central part in bridging technical and manufacturing functions, while also supporting innovation and quality assurance processes.
About the role
As Technical Support Manager, you’ll act as the go-to contact for technical queries—both internally and externally. You’ll manage documentation and regulatory compliance processes, lead on resolving technical customer complaints, and play an important role in driving product development through the organisation’s innovation pipeline. If you're passionate about precision, process improvement, and working collaboratively across departments, this could be a great fit.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing technical queries, documentation, and customer support cases
- Supporting innovation and new product development through established stage-gate processes
- Handling quality and compliance documentation (e.g., GMO statements, SDSs, Organic certs, hygiene certs)
- Assisting with internal and external audits (e.g., UFAS, ISO9001, UKAS)
- Coordinating lab sample testing and data reporting
- Managing product packaging and labelling using Nicelabel and IFS systems
- Contributing to feed and forage additive trials
- Liaising with cross-functional teams including Quality, R&D, Procurement, and Commercial
What we’re looking for
- Degree in a scientific discipline (Animal or Biological Sciences preferred)
- Experience in a food or feed industry technical role (desirable)
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and audit processes
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office 365 (particularly Excel)
- Basic HACCP training
- Experience working in or with laboratory environments (data analysis a bonus)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple teams
