Job Title: Process and Technology Manager
Reports To: Managing Director
The Process and Technology Manager will lead the development, optimisation and scale up of processes within our Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Technology platform. The role plays a critical part in advancing the low carbon aviation goals and will work closely with teams across the broader low carbon energy portfolio, including carbon capture, hydrogen and renewable power integration to ensure cohesive and innovative solutions are implemented. The Process and Technology Manager will also be responsible for the evaluation and recommendation of licensor technologies and third party solutions to support SAF production.
This is a full-time position, with flexible engagement based on project needs and key decision-making milestones throughout the development lifecycle.
Tasks and Duties:
· Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of SAF production processes including feedstock handling, conversion technologies (e.g (non)HEFA, AtJ, FT-SPK) and downstream purification.
· Collaborate with internal teams working on carbon capture, hydrogen production and renewable energy integration to identify synergies and co-deployment opportunities.
· Review, assess and compare licensor technologies and third part solutions for SAF production including technical performance, commercial viability and alignment with sustainable goals.
· Support technology selection processes including due diligence, benchmarking and engagement with licensors and vendors.
· Develop and maintain process documentation including Block Flow Diagrams, PFD’s, P&ID’s, SOP’s and risk assessments.
· Develop technical tools including simulation models to review/ predict/ optimise the performance of the technology flowsheet.
· Monitor process performance using KPI’s such as yield, carbon intensity, energy efficiency and cost per litre.
· Ensure compliance with international SAF standards (e.g ASTM D7566), sustainability certifications (e.g ISCC, RSB) and local environmental regulations.
· Contribute to techno-economic and life cycle assessments in collaboration with sustainability and strategy teams
· Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
· Provide expert advice on technology selection, evaluation, and implementation, particularly around proprietary equipment and specialist systems critical to the process scheme.
· Support the Project Director(s) in strategic decision-making by offering independent and well-informed technical input across all project phases (FEL-3, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and early operations).
· Support engineering contractors and vendors to ensure technological solutions meet Northpointe Energy Limited’s expectations and regulatory requirements.
· Provide second-opinion reviews or technical challenge as needed on engineering deliverables including but not limited to process simulations, mechanical design, instrumentation strategy, and digital solutions.
· Review and endorse technical documents such as:
o Technology evaluation reports
o Licensor technical submissions
o Vendor data sheets and performance guarantees
o System integration documents
o Advanced process control and digital twin concepts (where applicable)
· Assist in preparation and review of project documentation related to commissioning, testing, and performance validation of specialist equipment.
· Represent Northpointe Energy Limited in technical meetings, workshops, and site visits as needed.
· Provide mentoring or specialist training to project team members when relevant to technical domains of expertise.
· Undertake any other technical support tasks as assigned by the Managing Director, Others as designated by the Northpointe Energy Limited.
Education and Experience Required
· University degree in engineering (preferably Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering); advanced degree is a plus.
· Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years in a senior technical advisory or consulting role within large-scale industrial projects.
· Demonstrated experience with proprietary equipment, specialist technologies, and vendor coordination in energy, waste-to-energy, or similar complex projects.
· Strong background in technology evaluation, integration, and project lifecycle support.
· Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including licensors and EPC/EPCm contractors.
Skills Required:

· Excellent communication and presentation skills—both verbal and written.
· Proven ability to influence decision-making and support strategic objectives through sound technical advice.
· Familiarity with international engineering standards, codes, and regulatory frameworks.
· Working knowledge of process simulation tools and digital technologies applicable to equipment and systems design.
· Effective at navigating complex interfaces between engineering, operations, commercial, and regulatory domains.
