About Hometree
Join Hometree Group and be at the forefront of transforming the residential energy landscape. Founded in 2015, Hometree began in the home cover market. Today we’re spearheading the shift to decentralised, digitised home energy systems using heat pumps, solar panels, batteries, EV chargers and smart controls. This approach isn’t just about sustainability; it empowers homeowners to manage energy more efficiently and cost-effectively, setting new standards in energy consumption.
We operate across three dynamic divisions:

- Energy Services: Be part of our extensive network of local installation businesses that equip homeowners with the cutting-edge, sustainable energy solutions necessary for reaching net-zero emissions.
- Home Services: Help maintain the comfort and functionality of homes with comprehensive coverage plans that protect essential hardware.
At Hometree Group, we are committed to guiding UK homeowners on their journey towards more sustainable energy solutions, and we need passionate individuals to support them at every step. You’ll work across our Typescript/Serverless back end and Next.js/React/TypeScript front end, delivering scalable, high-performance solutions for partners and consumers. In our fast-growing, hands-on team, you’ll thrive if you’re a self-starter who values quality, collaboration and an eagerness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Development: Contribute to building and improving features accross the stack, from front-end components in React and Typescript, to back-end APIs using AWS, Serverless and NodeJS.
- Learning: Pair program, take part in code reviews, and absorb best practices from experienced team members. Learn to work with Javascript/Typescript, React and Serverless in AWS while contributing to real-world projects.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, product managers and customer support teams to understand requirements, fix issues and share ideas that make the product better.
- Automated Testing & QA: Build and maintain test suites—unit, integration and end-to-end making sure no regressions are introduced to the codebase.
- Documentation: Produce and update clear, concise documentation for APIs and business logic.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in software development.
What We’re Looking For In Our Ideal Candidate

- Familiarity with APIs and an interest in learning more about serverless technologies.
- Basic experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Git and agile-style collaboration.
- Eagerness to learn full-stack development even if you’re stronger in one area today.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team
- Ability to manage your time and contribute to projects effectively as part of a team.
Our Recruitment Process
- Initial Call (30 mins): A friendly introductory chat with our Talent Acquisition team to learn more about the role, your background and what motivates you.
