Position: Lead Electrical Engineer (Commissioning) – Utility Scale PV
Location: East Anglia
Full-Time | 4x per week on site + ability to travel
Salary: £70,000 + benefits
Piper Maddox are working with a renewable energy IPP who have an impressive pipeline across PV and BESS. They boast an extremely talented and lean technical team who have experience developing a strong pipeline across Europe.
As projects in the UK reach energisation, they are seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of large-scale Solar and BESS projects across the UK. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates strong leadership, and is passionate about renewable energy technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Direct and manage contractors during installation phases, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance at every stage.
- Technical Oversight: Solve complex electrical design issues, validate LV testing certificates, and manage power distribution, SCADA systems, and control wiring diagrams.
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain the highest standards in health & safety, compliance, and technical excellence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ongoing Site Support: Manage electrical works on operational sites, contributing to continuous improvement and system optimisation.
Skills Required:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical and commissioning roles on utility-scale PV plants, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior technical role.
- Deep knowledge of electrical systems, power electronics, and circuit design.
- Experience working on large-scale, ground-mounted PV installations.
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
