Trainee Planning Officer/ Planning Officer/ Senior Planning Officer
An exciting opportunity is available to join our expanding Planning team.
Based in the beautiful county of Pembrokeshire, adjacent to the world famous Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, we have availability for either a Trainee Planner, a Planning officer or a Senior Planning Officer, dependent on experience.
We have one post available in our Development Management Team at either Trainee Planning Officer, Planning Officer or Senior Planning Officer Level. This is a full time permanent positions, 37 hours a week based in Pembrokeshire (applications for part-time roles will be considered).
Trainee Planner: Grade 6 - £28,142 £31,022
For the Trainee role a degree or equivalent qualification in a Planning related subject such as Geography, Architecture, Land Management etc. or previous experience working within the planning industry is a requirement.
The Trainee Planning Officer post offers a programme of structured workplace training with the potential for external learning (funded by PCC) in order for the post holder to obtain a post-graduate qualification in Planning (and work towards obtaining chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)).
The post holder will train in the skills required to become a Planning Officer with the necessary supervision and mentoring provided. The role will initially involve assisting with the processing of planning applications and delivery of other planning services with progression to managing a limited caseload of planning applications.

For the Planner/ Senior Planner posts a recognised degree or post graduate qualification in Planning (or equivalent) is a requirement. For the Senior Planning Officer position, applicants will need to hold chartered Membership of the RTPI.
The Planning Officer/Senior Planner roles offer a career grade position and successful candidates will be appointed to either role depending on experience and RTPI membership. The roles will involve determining planning applications and providing statutory pre-application advice on a range of planning proposals, as well as assisting with enforcement investigations.
