Lancashire Cricket Club was formed in 1864 and is one of eighteen first class counties within the domestic structure of England and Wales. The Club’s home, Emirates Old Trafford, is an award-winning world-class venue which is recognised as one of the UK’s most prestigious and versatile spaces for sport, business, leisure, and entertainment, with the capacity for up to 50,000 concert goers; 26,000 spectators for international cricket and events and meeting spaces that can cater for up to 2,000 attendees. The stadium is home to a 150-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn hotel, which has 85 pitch facing rooms, and an on-site Caffè Nero.
Role Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement the club’s sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with ECB and LCC goals.
- Develop and maintain environmental and sustainability policies, procedures, and impact assessments.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and stay updated on relevant regulatory changes.
- Create and deliver waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency initiatives to minimize environmental impact.
- Track, analyze, and report sustainability metrics such as energy, water, waste, and carbon footprint.
- Manage sustainability budgets, ensuring projects are cost-effective and deliver measurable benefits.
- Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and partners to promote sustainability within the supply chain.
- Lead or support Environmental and Sustainability Committee meetings and staff training programs.
- Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, contract management, and performance reporting to ensure best value.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and integrate sustainability objectives across all operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a Sustainability & Procurement role
- Can demonstrate knowledge of Environmental and Sustainable Management
- Ability to work under pressure and according to deadlines.
- Ability to interact with a wide range of people in a confident and professional manner.
- Strong knowledge and experience using programs such as Excel, Office 365, BMS, CAFM. Purchase ordering software experience would be an advantage.
- Ability to work manage own workload but also work as part of a wider team.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of health and safety
- Experience of compiling and presenting presentations to groups and key stake holders
- Knowledge of the latest Procurement Regulations
