Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer
As a Field-Based Engineer within our Properties Team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our sites. Your week will be varied - from conducting on-site testing and inspections to producing detailed reports and preparing for upcoming projects. You'll enjoy a mix of fieldwork and flexible hybrid working, supported by access to one of our regional sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical testing and inspection on in-house installations and complete EICRs and EVC annual tests with accuracy and detail
- Diagnose electrical faults and recommend effective remedial actions to minimise actions
- Ensure all work complies with BS7671 and company safety standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and certification for all testing and inspection activities
- Liaise with internal departments, site managers and maintenance teams to coordinate testing schedules and access
- Support planned and reactive maintenance, including minor electrical works where required
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a skilled Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer with a passion for safety, quality, and excellence. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently across multiple sites and producing accurate reports.
Essential -
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- City & Guilds 2377 (Portable Appliance Testing)
- Proven experience in electrical testing and fault finding within commercial environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills and ability to produce clear, concise reports
Desirable -
- ECS/CSCS card
- Experience in carrying out remedial works following EICRs
- Familiarity with electrical testing software (e.g., EasyCert, NICEIC Cert Software)
- IPAF certification for working at height
- Knowledge of energy efficiency systems and sustainable technologies
- Experience with EV charger installation and testing, and a basic understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS)
