The Opportunity
Arup's water team has wide-ranging skills spanning advisory and specialist technical services. We consider the commercial, economic, environmental, and social implications of projects. Key areas we work in include: catchment science and management, dams and reservoirs engineering, flood risk management, integrated drainage modelling and network rehabilitation, asset management, and climate change studies. Other key areas of work include natural flood management, river and waterway engineering, wastewater infrastructure and treatment, water resources management and water treatment and supply.
You'll help us to deliver our water advisory portfolio, focusing on being an integrator across many elements of water and developing our asset management skills. While you'll have a great deal of responsibility from day one, we'll give you the chance to take on more as you progress and broaden your skills.
To Do This You Would Be
- Working with Arup colleagues in specialisms such as Flood and Coastal Risk Management, regulatory, infrastructure and water advisory, site development, sustainability and environmental planning.
- Working closely with clients in an advisory capacity to understand challenges in a range of water disciplines.
- Working with a range of stakeholders in a consultancy and research capacity
- Supporting the integration of our wide-ranging water skills and disciplines on projects
You would be mentored by Arup staff to develop to your full potential, with full support for Chartership with relevant institutions.
You will provide support to team members to deliver an effective and professional service to our clients. Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of our design teams, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experts.

We're looking for graduates with curiosity, personal drive and the following qualifications, attributes and skills:
- A post-graduate qualification (Masters or PhD) in Geography, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering (or other relevant social science) or Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Bachelors at 2:1 or above will also be considered.
- Enthusiasm for a career in Water, underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of our sector and work
- Strong written and communication skills
