Senior Electrical Engineer (EV charger and BESS projects)

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer (EPC) to join our growing team. This is a permanent role based in the Greater London area, offering an opportunity to lead on complex projects within the EV charging and energy infrastructure sector.
As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing contractors, supporting council tenders, and delivering complex EPC projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the grid connection process from project inception through to construction, working closely with DNOs, TOs, ICPs, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution. Candidates with battery storage experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage external contractors and subcontractors across multiple projects.
· Lead and support site surveys and EV charger installations.
· Provide technical expertise to support council tendering processes and public sector bids.
· Manage and deliver complex EPC projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
· Oversee grid connection processes from initial feasibility through to energisation.
· Work closely with DNOs, TOs, ICPs, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of projects.
· Apply battery storage knowledge to optimise EV charging and energy management solutions.
· Drive process improvements and ensure best practices in project management.
· Act as the technical point of contact for clients, councils, and partners.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent practical experience.
· Proven experience in operations management, preferably in installations, maintenance, construction, or technical support.
· Strong understanding of electrical systems, grid connections, and charging infrastructure.
· Demonstrated experience in project management and process improvement.
· Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to analyse complex technical issues.
· Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
· Previous hands-on experience working with DNOs/TOs/ICPs.
· Knowledge or experience in battery storage systems is highly desirable.
