Job Description
Responsibilities within the role
- Lead the design and development of Solar PV and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) systems for fleet decarbonisation
- Assess the Solar PV and BESS technology in the market and work with the procurement team to source the most fit-for-purpose products
- Work with the engineering and project team to provide a highly integrated solution (PV, BESS, EV charger)
- Ensure the design meets all scoping requirements and compliance with technical specifications
- Able to undertake or contribute to the feasibility studies, front-end engineering design (FEED), energy yield assessments (EYA) and site layout & optimization
- Able to prepare or review relevant technical and non-technical documents (bids, designs, reports, circuit diagram, layout, SLD...)
- Support the project tendering by providing subject-domain expertise
- Undertake site visits to support the site design and preparation
- Support the project delivery, commissioning and trouble-shooting
- Manage the internal stakeholders as well as the external contractor
- Help to establish the Hardware Portfolio and perform evaluation of new technologies
- Attend conferences or exhibitions to showcase Vitol's decarbonisation solution
Qualifications
- BSc and/or MSc Degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy or equivalent qualification
- 5+ years experience and strong expertise of Solar PV and BESS system design and construction
- Understand the relevant regulations of UK/Europe and experience of managing HSE
- Ability to understand technical requirements, drawings and product specifications
- Knowledge of substation design, distribution network, protection & control and grid connection

- Practical site support experience and strong hands-on skills
- Commercial acumen and cost sensitivity
- Willingness to travel both locally and globally
- Full driving license

Additional Information
Although this role does not have a defined location base frequent travel both domestically and internationally may be required.
