We are now seeking a Project Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a solid maintenance background and a passion for engineering design, automation, and project delivery.
The Role
As a Project Engineer, you will take responsibility for the technical delivery and management of engineering projects, from concept through to commissioning. You’ll work closely with clients, design team, and manufacturing to ensure that every project meets technical, quality, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver multiple projects within agreed time, cost, and quality targets.
- Liaise with customers to define specifications and project requirements.
- Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems, including machinery and control panels.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, and schematics.
- Oversee assembly, installation, and commissioning of machinery and automation systems.
- Assist with scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and breakdowns.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- HNC/HND (or higher) in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in maintenance or engineering roles.
- Experience with Pumps, Motors, VSDs, PLCs, Control panels, and Electrical schematics.
- Good understanding of electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience within the food processing, packaging, or automation industry.
- Knowledge of PLC programming (preferably Mitsubishi).
- Experience in machine building, system commissioning, and automation design.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition or experience in electrical installation.
- Experience with Servo motors & drives, Flowmeters, Loadcells, Radar and other instrumentation.
