The Role
As our Founding Engineer, you’ll join at a pivotal stage: shaping the architecture, culture, and technical DNA of the company.
You’ll have meaningful ownership over core technical decisions, working on developer-first, high-performance APIs that underpin critical energy infrastructure — no “grunt work”, just high-impact engineering.
This is a zero-to-one environment with a high degree of autonomy, where the right balance between speed and correctness is valued. You’ll be trusted to make technical choices that will define the company for years to come.

What You’ll Work On
- Designing and building first-class, developer-experience–driven APIs
- Architecting high-throughput distributed systems (1M+ requests/day)
- Working on asynchronous systems with queues and pub/sub patterns
- Making foundational technical choices in Node.js/TypeScript/React
- Establishing patterns for observability, fault tolerance, and redundancy
- Helping define the company’s engineering culture and best practices

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React
- Solid exposure to AWS or GCP
- Experience building and operating high-throughput APIs (1M+ requests/day)
- Deep understanding of REST API design — versioning, OpenAPI, status codes, rate limiting
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, JWTs, and authentication flows
- Experience with asynchronous systems (queues, pub/sub)
- Ability to articulate technical trade-offs — tactical vs strategic
Nice to Haves
- Experience with IoT systems or protocols (MQTT, CoAP, etc.)
- Experience using Puppeteer/Playwright
- Experience/interest in energy systems, renewables, or infrastructure-scale engineering
