Description
Due to future retirement, we have an excellent opportunity to take on the lead role in our Cardiff office. Working directly with the current senior director in charge and the existing team of five chartered building surveyors and project managers, you will lead on the management and continued growth of the office and deliver work both for existing and new clients, working for high profile institutional investors, commercial developers, and occupier clients. You will lead the office and team, forging internal and external client relationships to build on TFT’s success in the region and wider, through developing and delivering market leading consultancy advice.
As well as working to develop and grow the office, you will be working with existing clients such as Railpen, Aviva Investors, Legal & General, Grainger, Knight Frank Investment Management, GIC, abrdn, and M&G delivering on a range of high-profile projects across several sectors, including industrial, office, purpose-built student accommodation and build to rent.
As a Commercially Focused Consultant, You Will Be Helping Us To Grow Our Services In The Region, Maintain And Further Develop Client Relationships, As Well As Progressing Your Own Career. You Will Be Expected To Lead The Office And Team And Support The Below Actions
- Coordinate business development, marketing, resourcing, and knowledge sharing
- Champion excellence in service delivery internally; driving improvements to working practices including templates and quality control
- Advocate and oversee operational and process improvement, promoting innovation and new ways of working.
- Drive and manage consistency and adherence to best practice
- Promote the business for new and existing clients, supporting marketing as required
- Identify office priorities and link back to the service line business plan, updating the wider senior director team
- Set SMART actions for the team and support delivery, updating progress quarterly
- Celebrate successes internally and externally
- Ensure marketing materials are up to date
- Develop a community of practice in the office
- Support the success of each team member and continue to grow and develop all
Key accountabilities and deliverables
1.0 Manage and drive TFT’s Cardiff office bringing a profile of technical strength and commercial excellence, to complement the existing team, and that established by TFT across the UK.
2.0 Hands-on delivery role for a wide range of Building Surveying services
3.0 Support the management and development of the technical team, to deliver high quality services to existing and new clients.
4.0 Achieving performance targets (fee delivery and business development)
5.0 Liaise with the Service Hub Leaders across Built Asset, Development and Engineering & Sustainability to align services with strategic goals and performance standards
6.0 Network effectively with existing commercial clients and agreed targets.
7.0 Demonstrate leadership: lead and engage the wider service line group to develop TFT’s offer. Coach and mentor team members to develop their knowledge and confidence.
