Why This Role Matters
As part of our continuous improvement and innovation efforts, we are developing a new low-pressure aluminum casting process to replace the traditional molten metal pump casting method. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key project that aims to improve both the performance and sustainability of our processes. You will be able to directly impact our efficiency and help us build better, more sustainable solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Identify key process parameters (e.g., tooling temperature, cooling time, pressure, etc.).
- Define clear acceptance criteria for produced parts, focusing on quality and precision.
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement a structured experimental plan.
- Assess the capability of current equipment and tooling, suggesting improvements where needed.
- Analyze data to propose practical technical and process improvements that enhance performance.
- Contribute to a thoughtful economic assessment comparing the new process to traditional methods, with a focus on both quality and cost efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
- You are an engineering student specializing in mechanical, materials, industrial engineering, or a related field (4th or 5th year).
- You are fluent in French and English, and knowledge of German is a plus.
- You have an interest or background in manufacturing processes, metallurgy, or quality control.
- You are curious, detail-oriented, and enjoy problem-solving with a collaborative approach.
- You are proactive, self-driven, and eager to learn while contributing to a supportive and innovative team.
- You bring strong communication skills and a thoughtful, empathetic approach to teamwork.
Location: Goodyear Luxembourg Mold Plant – Colmar-Berg
Duration: 4 to 6 months
