Approaching 30 years as an established electrical contractor, we have a rapidly expanding solar department with a strong pipeline of confirmed projects for multiple clients, including: Local and District Councils, Housing Associations, and Commercial and Domestic Customers alike.
We specialise in delivering high-quality solar PV and battery storage projects across the South-East of England.
Due to exceptional client demand and an increased volume of work, we are expanding our team and searching for an experienced Installation Manager to lead our project delivery and help drive our continued growth and professionalism.
The Role
As a Solar & Battery Storage Designer, you will create accurate, efficient, and commercially viable designs and drawings for domestic and commercial solar PV and battery storage systems. You will work closely with consultants, project managers, and engineers to ensure projects are technically sound and ready for installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed solar PV and battery storage designs using design software (e.g., OpenSolar, PVSOL, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Produce quotes, system layouts, and energy performance reports
- Collaborate with consultants and project managers to ensure design feasibility
- Verify compliance with technical standards, planning, and building regulations
- Support pre-sales activities and respond to customer enquiries
- Maintain accurate records and project documentation
Requirements
- Passionate about sustainability and the renewable energy sector
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organisational ability
- Eager to develop both commercial and technical expertise in solar and battery storage
- Comfortable using digital tools, including email, spreadsheets, and CRM systems
- Full UK driving licence is an advantage
- Awareness of UK electrical standards, planning, and building regulations is desirable but not essential
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Collaborative, proactive, and enthusiastic team player
