About the team:
The Senior Manager of Insights & Analytics within the Data & Business Intelligence area is a core role in ensuring the operational functions within HelloFresh UK have the correct reports & insights to manage a 24/7 operation. You will have the opportunity in leading large scale MI / data change and transformation projects. The role will be responsible for ensuring the business teams have market leading insight applications available which keep pace with a fast paced and changing competitive business environment.
You will manage a team of data analysts and will be working closely with data visualisation tools such as Tableau and snowflake data warehousing software. You will bring together a combination of subject matter expertise and leadership skills to lead the implementation of the Insight & Reporting Strategy in combination with other UK and Global Data strategies; whilst ensuring a drive in transformation around how data consumers are presented with information.
You will also be responsible for helping your colleagues understand how best to use both analytics and routine reporting to solve business problems. You will help them synthesise their needs and support them in being able to use our complex data sets more effectively. The role will also support improving UK data consumers data literacy levels and alignment with global level data education programmes.
You will have experience working with Tableau and a wide range of other data tools (SQL, Presto, Snowflake, etc) and how to coordinate the delivery of high quality, timely and accurate information, presented in impactful ways. You will provide professional and expert support, helping to drive best practices in data standards, quality, input standards, ETL & data transformation for analytical consumption.
What you will be doing:
- Accountable for the overall Operational Insights & Reporting Service - ensuring timely delivery of reporting and dashboards - ensuring SLAs are met and data accurate.
- Responsible for driving positive change in the team and wider business, improving and expanding the data service to deliver coordinated outputs & ensure cross functional analytics are in synergy
- Leading on the technical development of Insight Dashboards
- Responsible for the reporting services catalogue and data asset management
- Responsible for coordinating business metrics are in alignment across the UK & Global business teams
- Responsible for management and coordination of the business intelligence team to meet business commitments and priorities. Ensuring good employee engagement and performance.
- Responsible for management of the incoming work requests and the process, working with the wider business and customers to scope, plan, schedule, provide status updates for BI work requests.
- Responsible for monitoring data quality, security and accuracy of data flowing through the system and escalating concerns in these areas to the relevant stakeholders.
- Responsible for ensuring that processes, schedules and knowledge is documented and shared - minimising bottlenecks and key person dependencies within the BI team.
- Responsible for fostering a continuous improvement culture - driving the automation of manual reporting/repetitive tasks, resolving at source common issues, improving the UX of visualisations, with the aim of improving the customer experience and freeing up team members to work on value adding activities.
- Responsible for development standards and change control processes to ensure smooth and predictable service delivery while delivering significant change projects.
- Support Director of Data & Ops Systems in aligning tech stack requirements for the UK market place with global technology teams
- You will help develop data analysts in best practice principles for data processing, storing & transforming data into data visualisation tools
- Collaborate with Business Unit leaders to unlock the value of the data we have / they require
Who you are:
- Proven working experience as a Manager of a BI / Insight & Reporting Team in a similar fast paced commercial environment.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
- Experience of delivering highly automated solutions for reporting / insight applications, and driving quality in data inputs / capture methodologies.
- Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
- A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Qualification/ Strong Experience working with data visualisation software tools such as Tableau
- You bring a strong IT project management experience with agile methodologies like Scrum & Kanban
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, e.g., AWS (S3, EMR, Glue, Athena, Snowflake)
- Experience with data modeling and data warehousing solutions
- Experience working in an Agile environment and using tools such as Github / Jira
- Strong experience working in a CI/CD environment.
- Experience of working with business stakeholders on data problems, translating their expertise into data solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, taking ownership for business problems and creating lasting solutions.
- A desire to expand your remit to meet the needs of a newly established team as we work together to define our operating structure.
- You have defined, lead & developed reporting/insight improvements projects in complex business environments
