Calor Gas in Belfast is seeking an ambitious Graduate Project Engineer who is interested in developing a long term career with an international organisation. This role is based in our Belfast location.
The successful candidate will work with a group of Engineers. You will be responsible for assigned engineering projects and providing assistance with larger engineering projects within a team of engineers across 5 terminals and depots and 3 cylinder refilling/refurbishment plants. Three sites are top tier COMAH sites with safe storage of bulk LPG on sites with storage vessels, associated pipework including cylinder and bulk filling.
The successful candidate will, with the assistance of Project Engineers and/or Engineering Projects Manager, design, specify and manage the installation of Operational projects as specified and required due to production, safety, or environmental requirements.
Manage individual project elements to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
- Adhere to the Engineering Management of Change procedure.
- Support safety audits on Calor sites.
- Diligent safety and technical process design and adherence.
- Complete and refresh all training specific to role as and when required.
Liaise with Plant/Depot/CED managers to agree on scope and timelines of projects.
Prepare project status reports for review by Engineering Projects Manager.
Provide project updates to Plant and Depot managers and key stakeholders
Manage contractors where required with a particular focus on health and safety.
Continuously review safe systems of work and create, update, and implement relevant work
instructions / procedures.
Requirements
Primary degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, or industrial engineering is essential for this role.
A minimum of 6 months full time work experience.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
AutoCAD experience (desirable)
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise duties.
Strong numerical ability, good technical report writing and presentation skills.
Excellent communication skills, can-do attitude, and team player
Willingness to learn and be flexible
Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and as part of a wider team
Full UK/EU driving licence
