ZeroAvia is a leader in zero-emission aviation, flying the world's largest hydrogen-electric aircraft. Our focus is the design and commercialization of hydrogen-powered aviation solutions to address a variety of markets; initially targeting short-haul, sub-regional commercial flights up to 500 miles. To date, ZeroAvia has secured the UK CAA and FAA experimental permit to fly for its 19-seater Dornier 228.
ZeroAvia’s powertrain development focuses on integrating hydrogen storage tanks, fuel cell systems, and electric motors, delivering a solution that will be not only without carbon emissions but also cheaper to operate. Commercializing the solution requires the establishment of a new clean aviation ecosystem, encompassing hydrogen production from renewable energy sources and tackling public perception of safety.

- Interface with customers, suppliers, internal engineering team and other project stakeholders to coordinate all technical and organizational aspects of product design, integration and testing.
- Gather and analyze data from customers to determine, develop and document system requirements.
- Develop System architecture and concept of operation. Create High-level design and subsystem requirements. Prepare all necessary data to perform detailed design.
- Define the scope of verification and validation activities and build overall integration, verification and validation plans.
- Flow up component and subsystem requirements determined during testing and validation and perform trade-off analyses at the subsystem and system level.
- Develop all necessary documents for integration and installation of the Power System inside the aircraft.
- Manage requirements across different customer applications.
- Develop a test plan for the system level. Verification of system test coverage on flight aircraft, test benches and simulation platform.
- Validation that the as-built systems are ready for flight, certification or for entry into service.
- Develop operations, repair and maintenance documentation.
- Analyze test results and operation of the System and prepare changes and update recommendations.
Essential
- Engineering degree qualification (or higher).
- Knowledge of different types of flight vehicles, the main types of powertrains, the principles of operation, control of powertrains and BoP of powertrains
- Knowledge of the operating conditions and maintenance of flight vehicles and powertrains.
- Experience in formal requirements management processes
- Experience in formal Verification and Validation of electromechanical, electronic equipment and/or supporting software applications.
- Familiarity with test and integration methods for software development.
- Experience in writing test plans and test procedures.
- Ability to solve complex system integration tasks at the hardware and software level.
- Experience, knowledge of methods and approaches to the integration of complex technical systems.
