🌱 Senior Sustainability Consultant
Location: Greater Manchester / Hybrid
Salary: Up to £55,000 + benefits
We’re working with an award-winning building services consultancy that is recognised as a market leader in sustainability, low-carbon design, and net zero delivery.
This is a standout opportunity for an experienced sustainability-focused mechanical design engineer to play a key role in delivering net zero and decarbonisation strategies across high-profile projects in the commercial, public sector, and healthcare sectors.
🔍 The Role
You’ll take a senior technical and leadership role, including:
- Leading mechanical building services design and coordination on complex projects
- Delivering thermal modelling and energy analysis using IES VE
- Developing decarbonisation and net zero strategies for new and existing buildings
- Ensuring designs meet low- and net-zero carbon requirements
- Working with AutoCAD and Revit as part of multidisciplinary project teams
- Managing client relationships and contributing to business development
- Mentoring junior engineers and influencing best-practice sustainable design
👤 About You
You’ll bring:
- Expert-level proficiency in IES VE, with demonstrable thermal modelling experience
- Strong experience in low-carbon and decarbonisation design
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to lead and mentor others
- Excellent project management skills and commercial awareness
🎓 Essential Qualifications
- LCC – Low Carbon Consultant
- NDEA Level 5
⭐ Desirable / Advantageous
- OCDEA
- One Click LCA
- NABERS
- CP1 – Heat Networks
- BEng or MEng (Chartered preferred)
- MCIBSE or MIMechE (IHEEM desirable)
- 5–10+ years UK-based consultancy experience
- Healthcare experience (HTMs/HBNs) or transferable sectors such as laboratories or cleanrooms
