Our operation and maintenance team provide a full range of critical support to our infrastructure network to support and maintain our stations, as well as playing a crucial role in the expansion of the network and the continuation of our reputation as best in the industry.
To support our growth we are looking to recruit a Network Engineer, with a great work ethic and the ability to work under their own initiative, to support network performance in addition to the national field service engineers on a daily basis.

Role Overview:
The role will be based at our Basingstoke Head office and will suit 25a dedicated individual who is looking to develop their career within this expanding and fast paced industry. The sector is one of the fastest growing in the country and this is a great opportunity to join one of the market leaders. The role is primarily based around the support of our growing network and working closely with our manufacturers and field based engineers providing remote technical support and guidance.
The role will include, but not limited to, the below tasks;
- Deliver Industry leading network availability across the network
- Monitor and report on all elements on the network as required
- Analyse network performance data of sites and chargers, root cause, triage and prioritise:-
- Remote diagnostics and repairs
- Work closely with the field dispatch scheduler to influence engineer schedules for attendance to priority P1, P2 & P3 work orders
- Raise tickets directly with the OEM`s and own through to close out and completion.
- Work closely with the customer services team, monitoring trends in customer feedback around charger and network performance
- Liaise and coordinate essential parts dispatching with the warehouse and logistic teams
- Deploy configurations for new services
- Provide technical support to Field Service Engineers
- Work closely with Network & Asset Management Administer to ensure database is kept updated at all times
- Ensuring all chargers have the latest Software and firmware updates across the network via OTA updates
- Remote commissioning of new chargers
- Configuration of new charger hardware inclusive of point-of-sale devices
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate with multiple members of staff, from reporting to their manager, other members of the network performance team, field dispatch schedulers, customer services, project managers, members of the installation team and the team of service engineers and warehouse operatives.
Skills and experience needed for this role
This role would suit somebody who is dedicated to their role and looking to progress their career, who has great communication skills and the desire to see a job through to its conclusion. The industry and business are very fast moving and the successful candidate would be expected to have the ability to adapt and change to the needs of the business. The role will grow with the business and is a pivotal position within the company to ensure that InstaVolt remains at the pinnacle of the EV charging sector.
- The ability to deal and communicate with a team of field-based service engineers and react to a changing working environment and work under pressure.
- Quickly adapt to changes and learn new skills and techniques.
- Provide prompt response to inquiries whenever required, and the ability to deal with and resolve issues and queries.
- Be able to work under their own initiative, with great organisational skills.
- Have a good knowledge of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel, Sharepoint and Onedrive.
- Basic understanding of health and safety, or the willingness to learn, to ensure H&S issues are reported in the correct manner.
- Good communication and customer facing skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of people during your working day, either in person, meetings, emails, and phone calls
