The Role
Carbon Launch Systems (CLS) is seeking an experienced and technically grounded Technical Sales Engineer to drive the commercialisation of advanced composite pressure vessels and cryogenic tank systems across a range of high-performance industrial sectors.
Based in Glasgow, this role sits at the centre of our UK operations and offers genuine ownership of customer engagement, opportunity development and contract conversion. You will work directly with OEMs, system integrators and engineering-led organisations operating in sectors such as hydrogen and clean energy, defence, industrial gases, marine and subsea systems, advanced transport and aerospace-adjacent industries.
This is a hands-on role in a growing company, suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, technical depth and having a direct impact on commercial outcomes.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Scotland.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
• Own and develop the commercial pipeline from early technical engagement through to contract award
• Act as the primary technical–commercial interface for customers (OEMs, integrators, primes)
• Understand customer requirements and translate them into clear technical proposals, costings and delivery plans
• Work closely with engineering teams to assess feasibility, risk, certification pathways and scope
• Support negotiations and contribute to contract structuring and long-term customer relationships
• Represent CLS at selected UK and European industry events, customer meetings and technical forums

Who We’re Looking For
• 5–8 years’ experience in technical sales, application engineering or business development within an engineered products environment
• Comfortable engaging with highly technical customers, including senior engineers and programme leads
• Able to balance commercial drive with engineering realism
• Background in composites, pressure systems, cryogenics, hydrogen, aerospace, defence, marine or industrial equipment is strongly preferred
• Self-directed, structured and comfortable working in a small, ambitious organisation
