Salary range: £30,151 - £32,909 per annum

Work location: The primary location is County Hall, Oxford OX1 1ND and we encourage everyone in the team to work alongside others in the office at least once a week.

Hours per week: 37

Contract type: Temporary - 1 year maternity cover

Vetting requirements: This role is subject to a Criminal Records Check

About The Role

This role is Information Analyst in the Public Health Intelligence team (maternity cover, fixed term for a year).

It is an exciting time to be joining our Health Intelligence team as we continue to develop the range of analytical support that we offer to Public Health colleagues and collaborate with analysts across the Council and in partner organisations.

The Information Analyst role contributes to surveillance and monitoring (including COVID and flu surveillance) and supports needs assessments, service design and commissioning.

You will be delivering high quality data analysis and helping to develop reports and online data resources.

You will also play a key role in the development of statutory statistical collections such as the Director of Public Health Annual Report and the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment.

About You

You will have excellent written, numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong eye for detail.

You will have made extensive use of excel spreadsheets, databases and a range of reporting tools and you are able to talk a range of audiences through the key findings from your work and the limitations of any analysis.

A good understanding of the role of Public Health and local government will be advantageous.

Full training will be provided on the council’s systems and data platforms.
