Business Development Manager – CHP or Battery Storage or Heat Pumps - London (Hybrid) - £110k OTE

Location: London (City preferred) – UK travel required (Can be based outside London across UK but have to be able to travel into London)

Base Salary: £60,000
OTE: £90,000 – £110,000+ (Uncapped)
Car Allowance: £6,000

Role Overview
This is a senior revenue-generating role focused on selling modular Combined Heat & Power (CHP) solutions into the UK industrial, healthcare, municipal and commercial sectors.
The position is part of a strategic UK expansion within the distributed energy market. The immediate priority is driving revenue through gas-powered modular plants ranging from 500kW to multi-megawatt installations (200MW+ portfolio capability).
You will operate as a high-impact commercial leader responsible for developing pipeline, influencing tender frameworks, and closing technically complex energy projects. This is a role for an experienced CHP professional who understands the competitive landscape and can convert relationships into revenue quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and close CHP projects across industrial and infrastructure markets
- Target hospitals, manufacturing sites, municipal estates and large commercial end users
- Engage EPC contractors, consultants and procurement teams
- Identify plant replacement and energy resilience opportunities
- Access and influence public/private tender frameworks
- Lead full sales cycle from prospecting through to contract award
- Maintain strong forecasting and pipeline visibility
- Work closely with engineering teams to deliver commercially viable solutions
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Experience in CHP / gas engines / cogeneration
- Strong network within industrial energy buyers
- Knowledge of key market players (MWM, CAT, Jenbacher etc.)
- Proven success closing multi-million-pound projects
- Comfortable in technical-commercial discussions
- Self-managed with strong hunter mentality
Desirable:
- Experience in biogas or hydrogen applications
- Experience selling modular or containerised energy systems
