Job Description
We are scaling up our flagship hydrogen storage product. You will work within our chemical, mechanical and EE multidisciplinary team to lead the delivery of the electrical systems for our hydrogen storage systems. You will report to the Head of Systems and Integration and be part of a fast growing team.
What you’ll do
- Design, create and install electrical circuits and systems (12/24/48VDC, 230VAC and 415VAC) based on system architectures
- Compiling BoMs, part selection, part sourcing and ordering
- Managing the performance and delivery of external design teams
- Writing technical requirements and mapped test cases
- Carrying out design calculations to size components and wiring for thermal, space and cost constraints
- Project management experience
- Technical authoring for design documentation (i.e. design notes, circuits diagrams, panel layouts, timing plans, design journals)
- Write test procedures and perform hands on system verification and validation testing on test rigs
- Lead safety assessments such as FMEAs, risk assessments, HAZOPs
- Design for systems regulatory certification (i.e. UKCA/CE)
What you’ll bring
Preferred
- A process driven customer-first mindset backed by a ferocious ‘can do’ attitude and a never-ending desire to learn and contribute
- The ability to translate customer needs into electrical systems designs that are optimised for manufacture
- The ability to work in a fast-moving and dynamic environment
- A demonstrable experience of working with <50VDC systems and single phase and 3 phase AC distribution systems in test rigs and products
- Highly competent in using electrical test equipment including but not limited to digital multimeters, oscilloscopes and power analysers
- The ability to read technical drawings including but not limited to circuit diagrams, PCB schematics, P&ID diagrams and panel layout drawings
- Implementation of hazardous area protection concepts in electrical system design with reference to ATEX and IECEX
