Our client, a leading renewables investment fund, is looking for an Analyst to join their investment team who will report to the Investment Manager / Investment Director due to exciting growth within the company and expansion into new markets.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- +1 year in investment or finance
- Obtained at least a 2:1 Bachelors degree (or equivalent)
- Financial/investment focused background
- Ability in building, modifying and carrying out scenario analysis in financial models
- High level of MS Excel and financial modelling
- Analytical ability with excellent attention to detail
- Clear & concise written & verbal communication
- Able to effectively work on multiple competing tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Experience working in the renewable energy sector is preferred
- Understanding of financial KPIs, investment lifecycle and renewable energy would be beneficial
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Modelling and Analysis:
- Develop, manage and analyse financial models to assess investments in renewables projects
- Interpret, share and review modelling outputs with other team members
- Assist the team with data analysis to support investment decisions
- Undertake quarterly, semi-annual and annual valuations of fund portfolios; and
- Contribute to, and eventually manage and review, project and fund valuation models.
Investment Support:
- Assessing the financial viability and potential returns of different investment opportunities;
- Identify and develop new business opportunities that align with the fund
- Conducting financial analysis and due diligence on potential M&A transactions
- Monitoring and reporting on the performance of existing investments;
Business Development:
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities,
- Support analysis of optimisation opportunities for the existing portfolio;
- Follow and report on sector news and industry developments;
- Investigate and research new markets;
- Analyse and report on emerging technologies; and
- Carry out competitor analysis and keep track of market events.
