The Role
As International Deployment Manager, you will travel to the company’s international locations to support the respective Country Managers prepare for and execute the construction of their project pipelines, mainly solar PV and battery storage, but potentially other technologies too.
You will assist with the verification of viable projects by visiting and assessing project sites in the UK and international locations. You will also assist with the scale up of delivery teams including identification and recruitment of skilled resources, and verification and appointment of subcontractors, plus the procurement of key components.
The role will be based out of the company's UK HQ in the South West of England and will require extensive travel internationally, typically on a three-week UK, three-week overseas rota, but this is illustrative and subject to change depending on project dynamics and requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Assessment and verification of viable projects
- Undertake site surveys to establish local conditions which impact design, as well as researching local supply costs for inclusion in the project budget
- Perform risk assessments on the project and proactively solve any matters encountered on-site in conjunction with the site engineers (escalating to the project director / Country Manager)
- Work with the design & engineering team to review all project documents and information provided by the client/developer and throughout the design process
- Review existing and where necessary, engage and mobilise the project delivery function, including hiring of key local staff and appointment of third-party contractors
- Negotiating contracts with sub-contractors and equipment manufacturers
- Ensuring projects are completed within agreed budgets and timeframes
- Ensuring health and safety complies with company standards and local requirements
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s engineering degree qualified
- Extensive large scale solar PV project management experience
- Skilled at negotiating contracts with sub-contractors
- High level of technical engineering affinity
- Experience working and travelling internationally
- Experience of solar PV construction in international markets
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Solution orientated outlook
- Comfortable with extensive travel and time away from home
