My impact as a Battery Test and Validation Engineer:
You will be part of a world leading team, comprised of leading aerospace and technology thinkers as well as some of the finest engineering talent. Of course, you will possess or be able to rapidly adopt a passion for sustainable aviation and it's benefits for both society and sustainability.
Day to day work is undertaken with a significant degree of independence and initiative, with supervision and guidance from accountable manager on longer range planning and unusual problems. Uses strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain excellent relationships with other engineers, both internal and external to vertical, to ensure work is aligned with wider engineering effort. Other functions of the business are supported or consulted for advice where needed (e.g. programme, marketing, finance, legal, procurement etc).
What success will look like for you as the Battery Test and Validation Engineer
:
You will define test plans to test, analyse and validate battery systems. Process raw test data using CAN software to analyse and interpret test results.
Assist with root cause analysis for any failures and you will be responsible for battery operational requirements, including Battery Storage, Servicing and Maintenance.
Everything sounds very interesting but how do I know this is the role for me?
We are looking for people that will have the following qualifications and experiences:
A degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or other related discipline is highly desirable.
With experience with HV battery or Hybrid Systems testing; preferably within the automotive or aerospace industries, and experience with MATLAB/ Simulink
Comprehensive knowledge of CAN software (CANbus, CANoe)
Non essential but advantageous are knowledge of battery test standards and regulations such as UN 38.3 and knowledge of aerospace standards and regulations such as DO-311A and DO-160G

Our Ways of Working In the UK we have two offices and a Battery facility in Bristol, an office in London and a site in Kemble with well stocked free kitchen provisions including hot drinks, fruit and breakfasts every weekday. Our typical full time working week is 37.5 hours. We recognise the world of work is rapidly evolving and that 9-5 is no longer a fitting pattern for many. We want to support all employees to deliver their roles to the best possible standard by offering an additional level of flexibility between our sites and home where suitable for your role. Typically, this is agreed with your team, ensuring there are times for collaboration on site and work from home as appropriate.
