Role Purpose:
The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible to maintain, monitor and ensure highest Quality for site construction inspection. He/she will also be responsible to:
- Develop and initiate Quality standards for tests, inspections, and evaluations.
- Utilize monitoring, measuring and test equipment with required accuracy for site inspection.
- Identify any backlog and trend in Quality and inspection targeting process improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis to resolve problems relating to Quality nonconformities (RCCA).
Key Responsibilities
- Determines Quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to constrcution processes.
- Assures that the QA/QC documentation processes, distributed, and uploaded in electronic document management system according to the project procedures.
- Conduct Quality Control and Quality test at site.
- Determine Quality metrics for construction processes / procedure.
- Analyze data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests, as applicable for status of inspection requests, non-conformances, site observations, audit findings and Quality personnel deployment, to identify any backlogs, trends etc. and apprise Quality Manger to direct actions.
- Review Contractor’s method statements, QC procedures, ITP and Quality Plan and assist with establishing acceptable working practices for construction activities.
- Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls, and inspections, manage documents certifying tests, controls, and inspections.
- Develop, control, maintain and ensure implementation of Quality documentation such as project Quality control plans, procedures, inspection and test plans, site inspection check lists etc.
- Design and develop forms and instructions for evaluating, assessing, reporting, and documenting on Quality issues during construction or fabrication.
- Assist sourcing with required specification for monitoring, measuring & testing equipment required at project site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems relating to Quality control aspects.
- Direct, assist and / or train site Quality inspectors to perform site inspection effectively.
- Liaise with managers and inspectors to ensure the smooth conductance of inspection activities and for reporting and reducing Quality issues.
- Inspect to ensure that products and processes comply with requirements, using established engineering techniques.
- Conduct Audits/Surveillance/spot audits to ensure compliance work at site and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze the root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions for processes or works that have concerns and monitor the effectiveness of action taken.
- Continuously improve Quality Control processes and procedures.
- Maintain, monitor, and ensure highest Quality in services or products.
- Assist Quality manager Improve construction processes and methods for cost-reduction by developing training improvement plans and work instructions.
Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
- A minimum 8 years of experience as a Quality (QA/QC) Engineer in a reputed organization.
- Experience in Civil/Building/Mechanical/High Voltage Electrical Installation activities on Infrastructure project.
- Knowledge of Engineering, Procurement Construction aspects of Major infrastructure project
- Ability to analyze information, report Results, promote process improvement, develop standards, support innovative technologies etc.
- Ability to Prepare, implement, monitor, and update project specific Contract Quality Plan
- Ability to plan and coordinate Quality assurance and Quality control activities in line with national and international Quality norms /rules /regulations
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package. Familiar with other computer packages (e.g., MS Project, Outlook, Win PCS, etc.)
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Good communication, writing and presentation skill.
- Shall be able to measure product/ work dimensions from drawings and other documents and compare with inspection records.
- Familiar with National/International codes and standards relating to relevant discipline.
