About the Engineering Maintenance Technician role:
We are looking for an experienced maintenance technician with a background in mechanical and electrical fault finding and repair of plant, machinery, and services, preferably in an FMCG manufacturing environment. As an Engineering Maintenance Technician, you will be a key role providing planned asset care and mechanical and electrical reliability support for plant, machinery, and services across the site. At all times the role will operate with a safety and quality first, mindset. The role will lead and support root cause analysis, problem solving and identifying and implementing solutions to continually improve plant operations. The role will also provide support to capital investment projects across the site. The key responsibilities of our Engineering Maintenance Technician will include: Carrying out asset care plans as scheduled in the site CMMS system across a range of automated filling and packaging equipment, robotics, site services and liquids processing equipment
Attending to plant, machinery, and services breakdowns, identify root cause, and implement the required mechanical and electrical asset care to bring equipment back into safe operation. Document findings and recommended further works in the plant CMMS system.
Assisting with contractor servicing of plant, machinery, and services
Supporting the development of asset care improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, and reliability
Carrying out risk assessment of planned and reactive asset care works aligned with the SC Johnson 7 absolutes of safety and implementing safe working systems to ensure zero harm is achieved across the site Previous experience/knowledge required of our Engineering Maintenance Technician: Essential Experienced maintenance technician with a background in mechanical and electrical fault finding and repair of plant, machinery, and services, preferably in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
Experience of maintenance on automated filling and packaging machinery and automated chemical batch processing
Experienced In Root Cause Analysis And Problem-solving Skills
Minimum C&G / NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering subject and time served apprenticeship Desirable Experience of fault finding on PLC’s and PLC programming Competencies, behaviors and aptitudes required of our Engineering Maintenance Technician: At all times to display a “can do attitude” and a positive, respectful, and approachable manner towards all work colleagues and work situations
The ability to work equally well autonomously and as part of a team and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and unplanned events
