Development Manager
Location: Scotland, UK
Our client is looking for a
Development Manager. As the Development Manager you will originate new greenfield land opportunities and progress land discussions on existing renewables projects covering principally onshore wind, solar and covering hydrogen and energy storage technologies. You will work alongside an experienced development team and have the support of a Graduate GIS Analyst, as well as having the support from all the relevant teams needed to fully tie up the necessary land rights for the projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate greenfield opportunities for projects;
- Compile detailed land referencing and managing the land acquisition/securing process to budget and time required for the project to reach the desired ready to build status date;
- Lead negotiation of HoTs, Options and leases for all land required for the project;
- Maintain relations with landowners, crofters/tenant farmers and land agents;
- Ensure health & safety standards are maintained, and adhere to the group’s HSSE policy requirements, including the management of external consultants.
- Preparation of presentation and attendance at public consultations for all proposed applications
- Liaison and appointment of planning consultants, and all other respective parties inputting in planning applications, including ornithology hydrology etc.
- Co-ordination of focused and efficient communication between client and consultants and separately with local communities/interested parties.
- Provision of planning advice and resolution of technical issues on planning applications
- Reviewing development plans and submission of representation and objections
- Securing planning consents for a wide range of proposed wind farms, solar farms, and other renewable technologies
- Identification of planning issues
Key Requirements
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience acquired in commercial roles in renewables/electricity utility industry;
- Excellent knowledge of GIS and project management software;
- Possess strong understanding of the different types of land agreements and have good commercial acumen;
- Confident communicator to a range of audiences and have strong people coordination skills;
- Fluent in English.
