As part of our clients continued expansion, they are seeking a
Junior Solar PV Designer to join our established project delivery team.
The Opportunity
This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate or post-graduate with a strong interest in renewable energy and solar PV design.
You will join an experienced and supportive team, receiving structured training, hands-on project exposure, and ongoing mentoring. As your skills and confidence grow, so too will your level of responsibility with a clear pathway toward progression as a Solar PV Designer.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design of commercial solar PV systems using PV*SOL and SolarEdge Designer
- Analyse half-hourly energy consumption data, utility bills, and load profiles to inform system sizing and performance modelling
- Assist with panel layouts, generation forecasts, and detailed design documentation
- Contribute to technical proposals and project handover documentation
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, designers, and installation teams to ensure designs are practical and deliverable
- Attend site visits as required to support project delivery
What Were Looking ForEssential
- Strong analytical and numerical ability with excellent attention to detail
- Genuine interest in renewable energy and solar PV technologies
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Desirable
- Experience with PV*SOL, SolarEdge Designer, or similar software
- Placement, internship, or project experience within renewable energy or electrical sectors
- Understanding of commercial energy consumption and utility billing
- Relevant degree or post-graduate qualification (e.g. Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar)
