Employing over 220 staff between sites in Edinburgh, outside Dundee and Inverkeithing in Fife, we are starting to sell vertical farming towers globally. The broader global indoor vertical farming market is set to explode and as first to market IGS has an incredible opportunity to be seen as the go to leading OEM brand. We now need to recruit a Maintenance Technician / Test Technician to support the engineering centre in Inverkeithing.
Reporting to the Test Team Leader, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance of our vertical tower, tooling, and test equipment within the workshop area; repairing hardware faults and ensuring all safety checks are carried out to comply with health and safety requirements. Some travel to our Crop Research Centre in Invergowrie is expected for test and integration of systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Working alongside a small team of test engineers.
- Carry out planned and preventive maintenance on our vertical tower and the full range of test equipment and tooling on site.
- React quickly to any breakdowns/ failures and communicate clearly with affected parties and work efficiently to fix the issue.
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance and fault-finding.
- Working within a multi-disciplinary workshop.
- To assist site with general Housekeeping, carrying out small/minor repairs, ensuring all tools are stored safely and compliantly
You are ideally Tim Served or educated to HNC/HND in a technical / engineering discipline. This will suit hands on Maintenance or Engineering Technicians from a range of products, production, manufacturing or field service engineering environments. We would also be very keen to hear from anyone who is ex-armed forces. Candidates will need a working knowledge of health and safety requirements, experience of Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance/Fault-finding, PC literate and capable of multi-tasking across functions / jobs.
