Who We’re Looking For…
We have a great opportunity for a Mechanical Biased Tradesperson to join our team of Mechanical maintenance technicians. The base salary starts at £27,055 rising to £32,934, on top of this there are enhancements for on-call and all additional hours are paid at time plus 50%, equivalent to £20.76 - £25.26 per hour. Further benefits include a market leading pension and generous holiday entitlement, starting at 27 days rising to 33 days, plus bank holidays.
The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. You will also be required to participate in an on call rota for out of hours emergencies . Due to the On-Call requirement of the post, you must be able to respond to emergency calls within 45 minutes of leaving home and arriving at the hospital.
This role will require you to have achieved industry recognised Mechanical qualifications and having completed a Formal Apprenticeship or Craft equivalent or completed at least a City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in an Mechanical Maintenance background.
The successful candidate would ideally have industry experience and would be expected to work alone and/or as part of a wider team. The role will require you to work cohesively with other Technical Disciplines.
As an Hospital Engineer you’ll be working as part of a wider team of skilled technicians, undertaking reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance. You will have face-to-face interactions with clinical and non-clinical staff - so you need to be good with people.
You will be undertaking periodic testing and maintenance on decontamination equipment, potable water & wet heating systems, sanitary ware, medical air, steam generating plant , air handling units and lots of other mechanical systems & equipment used within the hospital.
Each day will never be the same, so you’ll need to be able to adapt and work under pressure – the work we do ensures that the life-critical systems on site are kept running.
