Initially, you will support the characterization of samples from a microstructural and elemental perspective, applying a problem-solving mindset to provide insights on the impact of processes, design, or other constraints on key features of our technology to project teams across the business.Key Accountabilities: Provide strong scientific/technical expertise in the development of our products concept to product launch. Serve as a subject matter expert, delivering insightful and relevant characterization data within agreed timescales, and supporting strategies for characterizing the structure, materials, performance, and stability of our products. Support the development and manufacture of components used in our products technologies, troubleshooting technical challenges faced in projects. Support resolution of issues affecting our productstechnologies, component manufacturing processes, and meeting project targets. Identify and analyze design problems, formulate innovative approaches to solve technical challenges, and stay updated on emerging trends. Contribute to defining materials engineering design requirements and specifications. Communicate key information and recommendations to influence technical decisions and strategy. Support the company's analytical characterization and data analysis capabilities.Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience:In addition to a high level of professionalism and experience in industry-driven projects within multidisciplinary teams, the following qualifications and skills are required: MSc (+1-2 years of relevant experience) or PhD (or equivalent) in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Scientific knowledge/understanding of ceramics materials, electro-ceramics, sintering of ceramics, electrochemistry, nano-structured ceramic powders, and solution/ink-based processing of ceramic films. Experience with materials characterization techniques such as SEM with EDS/WDS, XRD, surface area (BET), particle size distribution, STA/DTA, dilatometry, XRF, ACIS/EIS, electrochemical testing, indentation and mechanical properties testing, SIMS. Entrepreneurial, problem-solving mindset, adaptability, and a can-do attitude.Desirable skills: Understanding of our products technologies.
